Quick answer: iPhone repairs fall into five main categories: display problems (Screen replacement), ageing batteries (Battery replacement), Liquid damage or short circuits, Charging port, as well as System software problems. Repair versus replacement mainly depends on the extent of damage: if only one part is faulty and the logic board works, repair usually costs much less than a new phone. Severe board corrosion or several failed core parts deserve a careful comparison. We are at Shop G81B, G/F, Sin Tat Plaza, Mong Kok (MTR Exit D2), open daily 11:00–20:00. Free inspection and quote approval come first; most screen and battery replacements take 20–30 minutes.
iPhone repair services
Each service has a dedicated page covering the repair process, time required, official information and FAQs.
Cracked glass, damaged panels, black screens, green lines and touch faults. We explain the display type and effects on True Tone and parts history before repair. Most take 20–30 minutes.
Battery health below 80%, unexpected shutdowns, heat or rapid drain: quality on-site battery replacement in as little as 15–30 minutes.
For failure to turn on, overheating or “Liquid Detected” after liquid exposure, we open the device and chemically clean the logic board, prioritising a backup once it starts.
If Lightning or USB-C charging fails, requires a particular cable angle or cuts in and out, we inspect it before deciding whether cleaning or flex cable replacement is needed.
For freezing, a stuck Apple logo, failed updates or app crashes, we try data-preserving methods first. Usually 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Pre-repair backups or photo and contact recovery after breakdown or liquid damage, with feasibility assessed and results reported honestly.

In-Depth Guide

iPhone generations differ in internal construction, charging ports and parts availability. Identifying the exact model before repair matters:
| Model | Points to note for repair |
|---|---|
| iPhone 12 and 13 series | Lightning port; as these models have been available longer, parts supply is relatively established |
| iPhone 14, 14 Plus | Redesigned internal structure allows rear-glass removal, making some repairs easier than before; the 14 Pro series retains the earlier structure |
| From the iPhone 15 series onwards | Moves to USB-C, so charging diagnosis differs from Lightning models; the battery is designed to retain around 80% capacity after 1000 cycles |
| iPhone 16, 16e | Apple's official repair manual describes electrically releasing the battery adhesive for removal, which requires the appropriate tools and procedure |
| iPhone 17 series | USB-C port; parts availability depends on the model |
| iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max | Launched in Hong Kong on 18 September 2026. As this is a recent model, please check parts availability first |
| iPhone Duo (foldable) | Launched in Hong Kong on 23 October 2026, the first foldable iPhone has a specialised inner display and hinge. Inspection and confirmation of parts availability are required before repair |
*We repair the iPhone 12 series through to the latest models. Parts for newer models depend on availability; please enquire via WhatsApp first.
Whatever the generation, the process is the same: inspection, quote and approval before work. Apple recommends running Repair Assistant on supported models after battery replacement. For details, see iPhone Battery Replacement.
For an iPhone that will not start or has a black screen, Apple recommends a force restart: on Face ID models, quickly press and release Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears, possibly more than 10 seconds. If still unresponsive, charge for one hour and retry. Continued failure may involve the battery, port, board or system. If it has been wet, do not charge it; seek repair directly. Avoid opening it yourself and worsening the damage.
The two main factors are the extent of damage and the device's age. If only one or a few parts are affected, such as a cracked screen, ageing battery or loose charging port, while the logic board and other core functions work, repair usually costs a small fraction of a new phone. If liquid has severely corroded the board, or the board, screen and battery all fail, combined repair costs may approach replacement cost, so compare carefully. Data matters too: with many unbacked-up photos and work files, repair may be more practical than replacement. Whatever you choose, a free inspection and an actual quote are better than deciding on guesswork.
Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera above the display; its sensors are separate from the screen glass. A professional screen replacement that handles the sensors and flex cables carefully normally leaves Face ID unaffected. True Tone depends on the display type: Apple states that it may not work correctly on non-genuine displays, and Parts and Service History will show “Unknown”, although normal iPhone use is unaffected. For details, see iPhone screen replacement.
Apple's Hong Kong website states that its limited warranty covers manufacturing issues for one year from purchase, excluding accidental damage and normal battery wear. AppleCare plans provide service for accidental drops and liquid spills and free battery replacement below 80% capacity. Apple's repairs and replacement parts are covered for 90 days or the remaining warranty, whichever is longer. Check official service first for AppleCare+ or covered manufacturing issues.
Out-of-warranty devices without AppleCare+ require paid repairs. As an example, Apple's Hong Kong website estimates HK$999 for an out-of-warranty iPhone 18 Pro battery repair and HK$3,249 for screen damage (October 2026 figures; check Apple's latest prices). Independent shops such as Mobile Repair Pro Shop offer same-day collection and clear prices, and accept out-of-warranty devices, parallel imports, used phones and previously opened devices.
| Criteria | Apple or authorised repair service | Our shop (independent phone repair specialist) |

| How quotes are provided | Official pricing | Free inspection; work starts after quote approval |

| Warranty | 90 days or the remaining warranty period, whichever is longer | 1–3 months' written warranty on major repairs (subject to the warranty document) |

Before repair, know: Apple states that iPhone 11 and later, excluding iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), have Parts and Service History under Settings → General → About, showing repairs to major parts such as the battery and display. Non-genuine parts show “Unknown”, which may affect trade-in value but not normal use. We explain the part type before repair so you can decide.
Parts quality varies across the industry. Poorly screened parts may cause colour differences or unresponsive touch; poor batteries can swell or overheat. Choose a shop with permanent premises, written warranties, free inspection and quote approval, and clear explanations of part types. See Parts quality explained and Official service and our shop compared.
