Mobile Repair Pro Shop handles cracked Pixel screens, unresponsive touch, ageing batteries, unexpected shutdowns, USB-C charging faults and malfunctions after liquid exposure. We inspect the phone free of charge, explain the options and costs, and begin only with your approval, using quality-checked replacement parts. Most repairs take under 1 hour. Before collection, we test fingerprint unlocking, touch, charging and other sensors.
Common Pixel fault symptoms
- Cracked or black screen, green lines or touch failure
- Battery health shows “Reduced”
- Rapid drain and unexpected shutdowns
- Slow USB-C charging or poor contact
- “Liquid or debris in USB port” alert appears
- Under-display fingerprint unlocking failure
- Malfunctions or failure to turn on after liquid exposure
- Freezing, crashes or system update failure
Quick answer: Common Google Pixel repairs include screen and battery replacement, USB-C charging port faults and liquid damage. On Pixel 8a and later, check Settings → Battery → Battery Health. “Reduced” means capacity is below 80% of the original, and Google recommends considering replacement. For a “Liquid or debris in USB port” alert, Google advises unplugging the cable, putting nothing in the port, turning off the phone and letting it dry at room temperature. Seek repair if the alert lasts 2 hours or more. Before repair, enable Settings → System → Repair mode to protect your privacy, but back up first. Our shop is at Shop G81B, G/F, Sin Tat Plaza, Mong Kok (MTR Mong Kok Station Exit D2). Most Pixel repairs are completed within 1 hour.

In-Depth Guide
Google Pixel repair guide: battery health, USB-C alerts and Repair mode
Last updated: October 2026
How do I check Pixel battery health, and when should I replace the battery?
Google states that Pixel 8a and later show battery status under Settings → Battery → Battery Health as “Normal” or “Reduced”. Battery health is calculated from remaining capacity: an estimate of how much charge the battery can hold compared with when it was new.
| Battery health status | Google's official guidance | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| PASS | Battery capacity is at a normal level | Continue using it |
| Reduced | Battery capacity below 80% of the original | Google recommends considering battery replacement |
Google also says all lithium-ion batteries lose capacity over time. Pixel 8a and earlier models do not have this display feature; watch for noticeably shorter battery life, unexpected shutdowns or swelling. iPhone and Samsung users can respectively refer to iPhone Battery Replacement and Samsung Repair for battery-checking instructions.
What should I do about a “Liquid or debris in USB port” alert?
Google states that if a Pixel detects liquid or debris in the USB-C port, or an overheating port or cable, it shows “Unplug charger” or “Liquid or debris in USB port”. What to do:
- Disconnect power first: Unplug the charger from the socket, let the phone cool for a few minutes, then disconnect its charging cable.
- Put nothing into the port: Check the port and cable for moisture or debris; do not insert objects to pick it out.
- Wet port: Switch off and leave on a flat surface to dry at room temperature.
- Debris: Hold the USB-C port facing down and gently tap against your palm.
- Wait for the alert to clear: Wait a few minutes until the message says the USB port is ready to use.
Google also advises contacting support or seeking repair if the “Liquid or debris in USB port” alert lasts 2 hours or more, or the port shows burning, melting or corrosion. We can inspect the USB-C port and flex cable. See Charging Port Repair.
If my Pixel will not charge, must the charging port be replaced?
Not necessarily. Google recommends the original cable supplied in the box. If another cable does not help, dust, corrosion or debris in the USB-C port may be responsible, and cleaning may suffice. The flex cable needs replacing only if actually damaged. We inspect first, choose cleaning or replacement, then test charging and data transfer on site.
Before service, know: Google explains that Pixel Repair mode starts a clean Android system in a dedicated secure partition, allowing technicians to diagnose and repair the device without accessing personal data or requiring a factory reset solely for service. It supports Pixel phones running Android 14 (December 2023 update) or later with at least 2GB of available space. However, repairs involving storage-affecting components still require data deletion, and changes made in Repair mode are discarded on exit. Google therefore recommends backing up before every repair.
How do I enable Pixel Repair mode?
According to Google's guidance:
- Step 1: Open Settings and select System → Repair mode.
- Step 2: Follow the prompts and enter your screen-lock PIN, password or pattern. Set one up first if you have not already.
- Step 3: The phone restarts into Repair mode.
- Exit: After collection, exit via Settings → System → Repair mode or the notification, enter your passcode and restart.
Google specifically advises against giving your screen-lock PIN, password or pattern to the technician. Remove and keep your SIM card before repair. Samsung offers a similar Maintenance mode; see Samsung Repair.
Will a Pixel screen replacement affect fingerprint unlocking?
Newer Pixels use fingerprint sensors beneath the display panel. Replacing the screen requires careful handling of flex cables and the sensing layer to preserve sensitivity. We test fingerprint unlocking, touch and display before collection. For iPhone screen replacement precautions, see iPhone screen replacement.
How should I handle liquid damage to my Pixel?
After liquid exposure, turn off your Pixel immediately, do not charge it, dry the outside and put nothing into the USB-C port. Seek repair promptly. Even if it has a water-resistance rating, protection can deteriorate with use, drops or previous opening. If it will not turn on, gets hot or malfunctions after liquid exposure, the logic board needs an internal inspection. See Phone liquid damage repair; for urgent photo recovery, see Data recovery.
Why does my Pixel ask for a Google Account after a reset?
Android phones have Factory Reset Protection (FRP). After a reset, you must sign in with the Google Account previously used on the phone to complete setup. Make sure you know the account password before troubleshooting system problems. We only help owners follow official procedures and do not bypass anti-theft locks. See Software Troubleshooting.
What should I prepare before a Pixel repair?
- Back up your data: Back up with your Google Account or a computer first, even if enabling Repair mode.
- Enable maintenance or repair mode: Eligible Pixel models can enable it to protect privacy.
- Remove the SIM card: Keep it yourself.
- Make sure you know your Google Account password: May be needed when resolving system issues.
- Explain what happened: Any drops, liquid exposure or previous repairs.
